🏈 Pittsburgh Steelers T.J. and Derek Watt will both have their football jerseys retired at Pewaukee High School in Wisconsin on May 5. Both will be in attendance alongside their families as they join their brother JJ Watt and Chris McIntosh in Pewaukee’s Hall of Fame. T.J. wore No. 16 in high school and was a jack of all trades — playing tight end, linebacker, quarterback and punter. Derek wore No. 20 and starred at running back and linebacker. Both T.J. and J.J. believe that Derek was the best high school player of the three.

“He certainly was the best high school player out of all of us,” J.J. said in 2020. “Derek,” added T.J., “is the best high school athlete I’ve ever see.”

🏈 NFL Network: As part of the trade to the Steelers, ex-Rams wide receiver Allen Robinson’s contract has been reworked, according to Ian Rapoport. Los Angeles will pay $10 million total and Pittsburgh will gives him a $3.835 million signing bonus and base of $1.165 million in 2024: Robinson now has a $10 million base, down from $15 million.

🏈 NFL on CBS producer Ben Fennell sees a lot of Heath Miller in Notre Dame tight end Michael Mayer.

“I’ve been comparing Michael Mayer to former 1st round TE Heath Miller. And it’s a fantastic litmus test to reflect on the quality of player/value. 1,000 snaps/season for 10 years. ‘Fantasy Production’ does NOT clearly represent the quality of most Y-TEs, IMO,” Fennell tweeted.

🏈 Jim Nagy: “Teams that do better job evaluating WR position, like #Steelers & #49ers, will have MSU’s Jayden Reed higher than majority,” Executive Director of the Senior Reese Bowl Jim Nagy wrote on Twitter. “Getting mostly third round feedback on Reed but could see him sneaking into second. @JaydenReed5 will out-perform many WRs projected to go earlier as pro.”

🏈 NFL Network: Ravens quarterback Tyler Huntley plans to sign his restricted tender Monday, according to Tom Pelissero. Huntley has been working out at the team facility and heads to Tampa this weekend to throw with teammates. Baltimore’s other quarterback, Lamar Jackson, remains unsigned.

🏈 Maurice Jones-Drew has the Steelers selecting Tennessee offensive tackle Darnell Wright at 17th overall in his latest mock draft.

“Another team that needs to shore up its offensive line, Pittsburgh gets a physical tackle and terrific pass blocker to put in front of second-year quarterback Kenny Pickett,” Jones-Drew wrote.

📅 On this day in Steelers history, Pittsburgh selected Texas nose tackle Casey Hampton (2001) at 19th overall and BYU defensive end Brett Keisel (2002) in the seventh round.

🏈 With Thursday marking seven days away from the 2023 NFL Draft, the Steelers History account on Twitter took a look back to when Ben Roethlisberger was selected at 11th overall out of Miami of Ohio in 2004.
